Live Art UK brings together key promoters and facilitators to support and develop the Live Art infrastructure for the benefit of artists and audiences.
The Live Art UK network explores new models and partnerships for the promotion of Live Art; develops new ways to increase the national and international visibility of Live Art; initiates strategies for a more sustainable future for Live Art practitioners and promoters; and aims to provide a representative voice for the Live Art Sector in the UK.
CURRENT PROJECTS
New Publication, Spring 2010:
In Time: a Collection of Live Art Case Studies, is designed to represent some of the innovative and pioneering ways in which Live Art has both posed and responded to many of the exciting cultural challenges of our times. Each case study was directed by members of Live Art UK, using either their own work or the work of others as its focus. The case studies are complemented by contextualizing essays from cultural commentator Sonya Dyer and critic Lyn Gardner. More information here.
Live Art UK Members:
Building on the strengths of its achievements, membership of Live Art UK was significantly expanded at the start of 2010. Our full partner list can be viewed here.
Live Art Almanac Vol. 2:
Later in 2010, we will publish Live Art Almanac Vol. 2, an international publication of writing on and around Live Art. More information on the Call for Submissions for the Almanac can be found here.
PAST PROJECTS
From 2005 to 2008 Live Art UK received funding from Arts Council England to support a two-year programme of projects and activities, Into Action, which included critical writing initiatives, touring commissions, and networking events. Since the completion of Into Action, Live Art UK has been primarily maintained by support from its members, and future initiatives and activities will be subject to fundraising.
