About Writing From Live Art
Writing From Live Art is sponsored by Live Art UK and is an Arts Council funded critical writing initiative aimed at supporting writers to become established commentators on Live Art in the arts and mainstream press. Established in 2006 the scheme encourages writing that is critical but accessible, and seeks to engage new audiences and readers through articles, reviews and debate.
The editor of Writing From Live Art is curator and writer Rachel Lois Clapham. The co-ordinator for Writing From Live Art is Emmy Minton, an experienced producer who has worked with Space Studios, Curious and currently runs an arts service for sex workers in Hackney. The facilitator for Writing From Live Art is Joshua Sofaer. Joshua Sofaer is an artist and writer, and a Research Fellow at ResCen, the Centre for Research into Creation in the Performing Arts at Middlesex University in London. www.joshuasofaer.com
The WFLA writers work in collaboration with many UK and International live art organisations and are regularly given full and behind-the-scenes access to Live Art programmes, festivals, artists, workshops and rehearsals. The writers also participate in panel debates and symposiums related to Live Art practice. Over the last two years WFLA have produced writing in collaboration with Spill (London), Artsadmin Summer Season (London), Experimentica (Cardiff), ANTI (Finland), Performa (New York)and VITAL (UK).
The opinions expressed on this site are entirely the opinion of the individual Writing From Live Art writers. We do hope you will let us know what you think about the work discussed, and the writing on this site, by posting comments.
