04 October 2013

Live Art UK Associates Gathering
Friday 4 October 2013, 11.30am to 6pm
at MAC, Birmingham

The second annual Live Art UK Associates Gathering took place at mac in Birmingham on Friday 4 October, curated by Live Art UK member organization Fierce.  The Gathering was about Live Art and the future.

Invited artists, thinkers and activists offered visions of the future from their specialist subject areas; breakout sessions considered the relation of Live Art to alternative economies, the city and networks, the body, emergent technologies and education; and three specially commissioned short films by Tania El Khoury, Mamoru Iriguchi and Deborah Pearson explored the representation of the future(s) and the shape of the world to come.

The commissioned films and documentation of the Gathering can be viewed here.

The freesheet for the event, with a specially commissioned text my Mary Paterson titled Live Art, potential and changing the world, can be downloaded here.

The first annual Associates Gathering, WAKING UP IN SOMEBODY ELSE’S BED, Thinking about Live Art in unfamiliar places, took place in June 2012 at BAC in London.
